The Podcast of Epicness

Apr 17, 2013 by

This idea came to me, like many of my brilliant ideas do, while I was affectionately stalking my favorite baseball player online.  (Kim told me if I added “affectionately” to that sentence it would make me sound less like a creeper. How did it work?)

“What is this flash of genius?” you ask.  I’m so glad you want to know!  Author Kimberly Truesdale and I are going to be starting an indie and Austen related podcast that is loosely affiliated with Indie Jane!  The podcast is as of yet unnamed, but we wanted to check in with the good readers of Indie Jane and see if this is something you’d be interested in.

We are planning to discuss the following topics:

Austen events and happenings

Indie Jane community events such as book clubs, etc.

New releases

Favorite books

Topical events such as new adaptations, etc.

The writing process

… plus special guests!

What are some topics you’d like to hear discussed?  If you already listen to podcasts what are your favorites and why?  Let us know in the comments below!

  1. I kind of like the title “Podcast of Epicness” lol

Yes, please suggest things you’d like to hear us discuss in our crazy way! Even down to specific articles, blog posts, JA or related news information, etc. We’ll need something to get us started! And your name will probably get mentioned ;)

  2. Rob Roll

How about film adaptations of Austen novels? You could also discuss the related shows such as Lost in Austen.

  3. Eh…Podcasts aren’t my thing at all.

It’s a lot easier to get the information you’d be providing in print form and for me to parse out what I want as opposed to have to listen through X minutes. From what I’ve seen, podcasts can be really lengthy, as in over an hour.
